You can finally call the plays on Facebook with GridIron Live, the new 3d football sim released by Challenge Games. As you pick the plays, you go head-to-head with the opposing coach. GridIron Live plays as a flash game Facebook application, which does not require a download. The idea is to make it easier to go viral and to join in a game with your Facebook pals. It does, however, limit your play to the Facebook flash pane within your browser. Still, it is a fun game and you can share your highlights with friends.

Coaches looking to move up can purchase better players and additional plays. No word about what happens in a virtual world holdout. Coaches purchase new items with tokens earned in game play, or in the strategy of all big-market teams, cash.

As frequent travelers know, wi-fi is a necessity when on the road. Paying for access at many airports and hotels no longer is. This holiday season, both Bing and Google are vying for your allegiance by providing free wi-fi internet access.

Bing has partnered with JiWIre to offer free internet access in the U.S.A. in exchange for one Bing search. JiWire provides wi-fi internet service in many U.S. airports including JFK, Atlanta and Denver as well as quite a few hotels. Hotel chains they service include Hyatt, Weston and Marriott. You can find a list of JiWire partners by using the wi-fi finder here.

Not to be out-searched, Google is also sponsoring free, albeit with some advertising, at 47 U.S. airports and on Virgin America flights through January 15, 2010. The full list of participating airports is available here. Google is also running a photo contest in conjunction with the free wi-fi and you an enter that as well.
